As Bill Gates leaves his full time position at Microsoft, there are very mixed views on both the past and future of his legacy. There is no doubt to me that Gates has shaped the computing world we live in and all of the industries that use computer technology. My favorite lesson - Geeks can be businessmen, too!!

 "Whether or not you are a fan of Bill Gates, it is impossible to deny the impact he has made on the spread of computer technology across the planet during the past three decades."

Five lessons we have, without a doubt, learned from Gates....

  1. Software matters
  2. Arrogance breeds failure
  3. Computing will spread everywhere
  4. You don’t have to be first to win
  5. Geeks can be businessmen, too
